Research and publications

He has written over one hundred and twenty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters related to head and neck surgery and delivered seventy scientific presentations. He has co-principal investigator/national coordinator on two multi-centre clinical trials funded by the National Cancer Grid, and was involved in prospective research worth over ten crore rupees. He has ongoing scientific collaborations with Mazumdar Shaw Centre for Translational Research Bangalore, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, National Cancer Centre Singapore and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Hospital Sydney. He has received multiple prizes and awards for excellence in research.

He is also passionate about teaching aspiring and trainee head and neck surgeons. He was previously Assistant Fellowship Director at the Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre, where he trained fellows from different parts of the country. He has also been involved in the surgical training of international fellows through the AOCMF program. He is a Professor at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. He is editor of a textbook ‘Comprehensive Management of Head and Neck Cancer’, released by Jaypee Publications in 2021.
